Venus Williams and Serena Williams are proffesional American tennis players who have both been coached from an early age by their parents Richard Williamms and Oracene Price.Venus was born in 1980, and Serena was born in 1981.They are both very competitve and there is a noted rivalry between them.However, they still remain very close and will often watch the other's match in support.They have both been honored the rank of #1 female tennis players.

Both sisters have decided to not participate in any Indiana Wells tournaments, even if a player is required to play, and can be fined for not doing so.The reason for this was that back in 2001, both sisters were booed by the crowd, and many of them had shouted racial remarks at both sisters as well.Serena had even discussed her experience in her 2009 autobiography in an entire chapter.

The reason I respect the Williams sisters as tennis players is because both sisters have suffered heavy criticism, and yet they have decided to just ignore it and continue playing.They even decided to boycott an entire tournament, just to prove a point.
