Sarah Chang was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 10, 1980. Her debut came in 1989 with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra.During the last couple of years, she has performed in many major roles, such as holding recital tours across Europe, North America, and Asia with pianist Andrew von Oeyen.She has also performed in England, France, Germany, Netherlands, China, South Korea, and Japan.As a child, she was known as a child prodigy, and has been playing the violin since age four.Sarah Chang still plays, even today.

The awards she has received include the Avery Fisher Career Grant(1992), the Gramophone Magazine Young Artist of the Year(1993), the Newcomer of the Year for"Echo"(1993;Germany), the Nan Pa(1993; South Korea), the Newcomer of the Year at the International Classical Music Awards(1994), the Avery Fish Prize(1999), the Internazionale Accademia Musicale Chigiana Award in Siena, Italy(2004), and the Hollywood Bowl's Hall of Fame(2004).

The reason I enjoy her music and admire her skill as a violinists is because she has been playing at such a young age.This shows me that its never too early to pick and continue doing what you like.Chang has also been supporting childhood musical education for many years.
