Another name for the violin is the fiddle.This instrument is tuned in fifths, and it is played by drawing the bow across a string or by plucking a string.The word violin comes from the Medieval Latin word vitula which means "stringed instrument."Also, the violin gained its well known Characteristics in 16th century Italy, and recieved further modifications in the 18th and 19th centuries.

I've been playing the violin for about five years now, and I hope to keep on playing.At first, I only played because, at my old school, we were forced to participate in some sort of musical group, such as band or orchestra.I had chosen the violin because, at the time, I believed it would be the easiest to play.Now, I actually enjoy playing the violin, and that's why it is one of my favorite hobbies.
