Michael James Owen Pallett was born in Mississauga, Ontario on September 7, 1979.At the age of three, he had begun to study classical violin and, by age thirteen, had composed his first piece.Pallett bases a lot of his music off of various video games, such as Mario and Dungeons and Dragons.He also performed under the name Final Fantasy for some time.

Pallett often gave some of his money recieved from his accomplishments to other people or musicians.For example, he had donated all of his income to Doctors Without Borders when his song "Adventure.exe," was used in a series of commercials by Orange in the UK.Also, when one of his albums had won the 2006 Polaris Music Prize, he gave away the money to bands he liked who needed financial assistance.

The reason I enjoy his music and admire his skill as a violinist is that Owen has continued playing even though he has often been criticed for his music and playing.Also, even though he has recieved negative attention for being gay, he still proudly displays his talent as a musician.
